I’m sure you’ve heard that being frugal is an important part of prepping. If not: Being frugal is an important part of prepping.
Okay now that you’ve heard it you can probably understand why. No? Where’s why:
Prepping can be as cheap or expensive as you want it to be. Mo stuff, Mo money. It will make a difference as to whether your bugout shelter is a tent or a missile silo, etc. etc.. Fortunately you can minimize the cash you spend on food. Here’s how:
1. Buy stuff you eat. Yes, the date on the can is not sacred but nothing lasts forever (except Twinkies).
2. Organize your food. Keep the oldest cans up front so that you can use them. Store other items in pails or Mylar bags with desiccant and date and label.
