Welcome to the world of Emergency Preparedness

Prepping is not necessarily preparing for the end of the world as we know it although it can be. My focus here is help others  prepare for disasters both large and small. It could be you have become lost or injured while enjoying your favorite outdoor recreational activity or a severe winter storm has cut power to your home for several days. The photo above was taken near my home in Maine on Christmas Day 2013 after a three day ice storm knocked out power to a wide area of the  state ( I was without power for two days it came back on  Christmas eve around 6 pm). Others were not as fortunate being without power for up to 5 days in my area. The next post will cover power outage tips, tricks and techniques to stay safe and secure during a winter storm. I also have been working on a modular emergency preparedness system that will take you from a small kit sized to fit in a pocket through a full sized bug-out bag. Complete lists of the equipment I use will be made available.
